AUBURN, Mass. - In the summer of 1993, after experiencing, "a lonely period," June Fuller of 29 Oakwood Ave in Auburn decided to check out the personal ads section in the newspaper.
"I rode on motorcycles years ago, and decided it was something I wanted to do again," she said. "There, in the paper, simply put, was an ad from a guy who was looking for someone who wanted to ride with the possibility of romantic times."
"Sounded good to me," Fuller said.
"I answered his ad only to find out that he had just come down with Chickenpox! So, we couldn’t meet right away but it gave us time to converse and get to know each other a little before getting together."
After a few conversations - the couple agreed it was time to meet face to face.
"We decided to meet one hot summer night in the parking lot of McDonalds on Auburn St. to go for a ride. I was anxious to meet Bob and excited to ride on his Harley. I got to Mickey D’s early and parked in the back of their lot so I could have a clear view of him when he pulled in. I could hear his bike coming and my excitement grew as he rode into the parking lot. His bike was awesome and so was he," she said.
"Since we were both married before, we took it slow. Finally in 2000, after 7 years of dating, we tied the knot at the JP’s house standing between our motorcycles. Never thought I was going to meet the man of my dreams through the personals," Fuller said. "It isn't the story of the year but it's our story."
