With temperatures feeling like spring this weekend, many in Central Mass. may be wondering if winter will be coming any time soon.

Shrewsbury Weather Specialist Jim Arnold said that it may still be a while before our region sees winter.

"Temperatures for the week should be at or above seasonable values," Arnold said. "I can't rule out some minor snowfall during this time, but at this time I don't see any major storms on our horizon through next weekend."

Arnold did say some more interesting weather may be coming next week.

"A significantly colder regime could be working in on us during that week and perhaps a bit earlier than that, but right now I do not see anything unusual before the 15th of January at the earliest," Arnold said.

The overall weather pattern will become stormier, which Arnold said will mean more snow in the future.

"There will be at least two opportunities for disruptive snowstorms and there could be several lesser disturbances affecting us," Arnold said. "Suffice it to say, winter has not forgotten us, and these pattern changes usually need about four to six weeks to play themselves out."
