AUBURN, Mass. - Following phenomenal athletic and academic success at Auburn High School, Rachel Gillies is looking forward to graduating in May and developing her medical skills at St. Anselm College in September.
On Wednesday, the former varsity soccer captain and basketball player signed a letter of intent to attend St. Anselm College for nursing.
With her family and coaches by her side, Gillies said winning Auburn High's first ever Division II State Championship in November at Worcester State University was definitely a "nice way" to finish out her high school sports career.
"It was our goal for the past four years," she said. "Athletics is probably the number one thing I will miss about high school."
Gillies intends to pursue a career as a nurse practitioner.
